A 128×128 15µm-Pitch DROIC with Pixel-Level 14-Bit ADC

Digital readout integrated circuits (DROIC) show advantages in infrared imaging scenarios with large charge capacity and wide dynamic range. In this paper, a 128×128 DROIC in 15µm pitch size is proposed, which implements 14bit pixel-level analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The design is based on 65n...

Summary:Digital readout integrated circuits (DROIC) show advantages in infrared imaging scenarios with large charge capacity and wide dynamic range. In this paper, a 128×128 DROIC in 15µm pitch size is proposed, which implements 14bit pixel-level analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The design is based on 65nm 1P9M CMOS process. The chip size is 2.6mm×3.2mm. According to the simulation results, the non-linearity is 0.6%. At frequency of 100×7/128, the signal to noise and distortion ratio (SNDR) of pixel achieves 50dB. The typical power consumption of the proposed array is 33mW and the charge handling capacity is 4.6Ge - .
