Summary:The article provides information on the dynamics of commissioning of the number and installed capacity of solar and wind power plants operating in the United power system of Russia. The concentration of power plants based on renewable energy sources by regions and by interregional power systems is shown. The data on the normative imbalances of active power in the interregional power systems on the basis of the maximum install capacity of the single power generation units and in comparison with the install capacity of solar and wind power plants is given. It is shown that the commissioning of renewable energy sources and their unstable operation, which depends on weather conditions, makes it necessary to commission additional reserves of active power at hydro and thermal power plants. In general, the impact of renewable energy sources on the functioning of the power system is reduced to a decrease in the efficiency of the technical and economic functioning of the entire power system and to an accelerated increase in electricity tariffs.
