Summary:As the scale of cities continues to expand, the problem of traffic congestion has become more and more serious. Emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks are an essential part of the traffic flow. Their priority rights are improved to ensure the efficiency of the emergency vehicles on the path of traffic. Unique services such as rescue are of great significance. This article introduces signal light priority control, signal light cycle-recovery, and signal light timing-recovery, then establishes three corresponding models to ensure the pass priority of emergency vehicles. Afterward, this article takes double intersections as the research object to build a SUMO simulation platform for simulation experiments. In terms of time-consuming, the priority traffic strategy saves 11.29%, 18.48%, and 48.49% respectively under regular traffic, light traffic congestion, and moderate traffic congestion. Although reducing the number of emergency vehicles waiting for parking will have effect on the traffic situation in the - opposite direction, the overall effect is controllable, which verifies the effectiveness and feasibility of the emergency vehicle priority-control strategy.
