Summary: | DDoS attack could be done in many ways. There is a way where the Windows OS could be jammed and froze by just simply performing some tricks. The tricks that could be done are through Metasploit and Hping3, then the magic would happen in just a few seconds to jam the Windows OS. The penetration testing process will be carried out through Kali Linux as the virtual machine to prevent real destruction to the system. For DDoS and DoS attack, the purpose of them is to cause the system to jam and not able to carry out the normal task that is desired by the users. As for the DoS attack, there is one way of carrying it out, and the way would be a SYN flood attack. SYN flood attack will cause the TCP three-way handshake to be interrupted and cause the machine or server could not carry out a normal connection. The attack will start by the attacker by sending tons of SYN packets to the victim and the machine of the victim would reply to the attacker with the SYN-ACK packets as it did not aware that there is an attack coming to itself. The attacker would not be replying to the ACK packets thus causing the connection to be on hold and not completed. The machine would be jammed now as there are too many open connections. |
