Summary:In this paper, the performance of cooperative transmission with a Intelligent Reflecting Surface (IRS) is investigated in a clustered low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites communication system. We aim to maximize the receive SNR of a terrestrial user by jointly optimizing the (active) transmit beamforming and (passive) reflect beamforming subject to a transmit power constraint at the source satellite. Furthermore, we demonstrate it through our simulations. Our proposed IRS-assisted LEO satellite communication system can provide high quality communication service even to communicatively isolated areas, so it can be expected to be a main applicable 6G technology which guarantees superconnection.
