Summary:In this paper, a patch antenna is proposed to achieve Angle of Arrival (AOA) in a relatively small size. It is composed of four arms which have two states to switch from. Traditional AOA estimation system requires multiple antennas to form antenna arrays, which causes problems of mutual coupling and matching among the antennas. In this antenna design, the phase difference of tag's signal can be obtained by switching states of different arms, and further the AOA can be calculated. This antenna has the potential to be used in a variety of mobile devices and human-computer interactions.
