Summary:Determining the optimal value of the power factor of synchronous motors in changing operating conditions is a problem of the present day. The main directions of modern research on the subject are based on the application of Fuzzy Logic, Particle Swarm Optimization and artificial neural networks. The paper presents a built up mathematical model for defining the optimal value of the power factor of synchronous motors by applying the mathematical theory of experimental design. The independent variables, influencing the evaluated parameter are selected. An adequate mathematical model has been obtained, by means of which the optimal value of the power factor of synchronous motors in operating conditions is found. The developed mathematical model is convenient for practical use and no specialized software is needed for its application.
