Summary: | The technique of obtaining coal from the earth's surface is called coal mining. In different industries like steel and cement, coal is utilized to bring out iron from iron ore and to produce cement. Every integrant, for-instance harmful gas, intense heat, fire occurrences, and so on, must be examined on a regular basis in the underground mining industry. Coal mine safety standards remain inadequate, and coal mine catastrophes continue to occur often, resulting in significant property and life losses. Because of the intricacies of the mining environment and the vast range of activities carried out in coal mines, it is essential to keep a constant eye on the working conditions. As a solution, a wireless sensor network application in a coal mining safety system has been proposed. This system uses a low energy consumption, cost-efficient controller, Arduino UNO R3 board, a Temperature and Humidity sensor DHT11, IR sensors, Harmful gas sensor, an LDR sensor for noticing the changes in mine climate, and Wi-Fi for remote logging of data. A temperature sensor, a methane and carbon dioxide sensor, and a microcontroller that gathers temperature, humidity, and methane values. |
