Summary:The aim of the research was to analyze the dynamics of the internalization of the values of the educational smart paradigm and their expression in communication strategies for teaching engineering students before and during a pandemic. The results of sociological surveys and interviews of the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 academic years were compared. The paper examines the changes in communication strategies of engineering students during the transition of higher education to the online learning during the pandemic.
