Summary:The impact of reactive power loss on the operating parameters of distribution grids powering oil and gas production facilities has been analyzed. It is shown that the active and reactive power losses in distribution grids significantly depend on the reactive power compensation at the consumption node; they reach minimum values at full compensation and significantly increase at incomplete or overcompensation, and the higher the Q-factor of the distribution grid and the reactive power factor of the load the greater the loss. It is shown that with full compensation of the reactive power of the load, the voltage loss can be further reduced by reducing the reactive power loss in the distribution line. The possibility of increasing the distribution line capacity by 1.33-1.67 by creating a natural power transmission mode to compensate for reactive power loss has been justified.
