Summary:Mango is the third most significant fruit in terms of value and production volume, after pineapple and banana. In contrast, human grading of mangoes in an agricultural setting is inefficient, labour-intensive, and prone to errors. As a result, it incorporates uncertainty in human decision-making, i.e. choice subjectivity due to various viewpoints, experiences, and information. We present a strategy for modelling uncertainty in mango grading decision-making in this paper. Capturing a human expert's uncertainty, on the other hand, is tough, especially when it comes to fruit grading. Hence, in this paper, we proposed a user study as a preliminary step to capture human experts' uncertainty in grading the mango. The comprehensive user study will encourage the human expert to evaluate the mango based on its primary size, colour, and skin characteristics. The study's main contribution is a user study that considers a human expert's subjective viewpoint while dealing with uncertainty in decision making. As a result, this study aims to gain some insight into the ability of human experts to grade mangoes.
