Summary:This paper investigates an efficient system for collecting packets from a large number of sensor nodes (SNs) using the intermittent receiver-driven data transmission (IRDT) protocol. In our proposed system, we deploy a packet aggregation station such as gateway (GW) equipped with digital beamforming, which employs beam sweeping during downlink beacon transmission to mitigate collisions of send request (SREQ) packets from SNs. Furthermore, we utilize multiple digital reception beams in parallel, allowing for the simultaneous decoding of multiple packets in uplink transmission and thereby improving the packet delivery ratio (PDR). Numerical results validate the effectiveness of our proposal.
