Low-threshold high-efficiency all-fiber laser generating cylindrical vector beams operated in LP11 mode throughout the entire cavity

Summary:We demonstrate an all-fiber cylindrical vector beam (CVB) laser that operates in the high-order mode throughout the entire cavity based on the polarization dependence of few-mode fiber Bragg gratings. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time that an annular doping Yb-doped fiber (AYDF) is employed to reduce the laser threshold and enhance the slope efficiency for the LP11 mode. The resonance efficiency of this all-fiber laser reaches 53.3% with a low threshold of 32.9 mW. Moreover, radially and azimuthally polarized beams can be generated and switched by adjusting the polarization controllers within the fiber laser.
