Summary:The presence of spectral mismatch between the components of a WRGB color filter array severely affects the performance of demosaicking. This paper presents a novel method that compensates for the spectral mismatch and greatly enhances the accuracy of R, G, and B interpolation. The method is tested on a two-megapixel WRGB CMOS image sensor. The results show that the proposed method brings the performance of WRGB demosaicking to an unprecedented level competitive with that of the state-of-the-art Bayer demosaicking.
