Composition dependence of the diffuse scattering in cubic PbZr1-xTixO3

Summary:The results of the experimental study of the diffuse scattering in ferroelectric solid solutions PbZr 1-x Ti x O 3 are reported. We have used X-ray diffraction to characterize the diffuse scattering in six single-crystals with . The comparison of diffuse intensity maps in almost pure lead zirconate and PbZr 1-x Ti x O 3 compounds with significant titanium doping shows that increasing lead titanate concentration gradually scales down the shape anisotropy of the scattering, but some details of the diffuse scattering that are not observed in pure PbTiO 3 still remain.
