Raman scattering investigation with temperature of phase transitions in (Pb1-xBax)ZrO3 ceramics at critical compositions x=0.175 and 0.35

An investigation of the Ba‐doped lead zirconate system (Pb1‐xBax)ZrO3 was carried out with the aim of elucidating the phase transition points at critical concentrations x=0.175 and 0.35 as function of temperature in the range 10–620 K. A new phase transition of an order–disorder type, at low tempera...

Summary:An investigation of the Ba‐doped lead zirconate system (Pb1‐xBax)ZrO3 was carried out with the aim of elucidating the phase transition points at critical concentrations x=0.175 and 0.35 as function of temperature in the range 10–620 K. A new phase transition of an order–disorder type, at low temperature, was evidenced. Moreover, on the basis of the Raman data, a comparison was made with respect to undoped and titanium‐, niobium‐ and lanthanum‐doped lead zirconate concerning the antiferroelectric–ferroelectric–paraelectric phase transition sequence. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
