Summary:Elderly patients, especially those with dementia may suffer incontinence and related problems due to decline in physical and mental abilities. This paper presents the design, development and deployment of a smart wireless continence management system in a nursing home which addresses the pressing need for reliable continence assessment to alleviate the inconveniences faced by the elderly and caregivers. Preliminary results are promising for long-term incontinence care.
