Summary: | Mr. Lim is a 57-year-old Korean American man who presented
with symptoms of depression, which he called “han.” In describing his personal history, he said that he had arrived in the United
States with his wife and two sons during the late 1980s. Trained as
an engineer at one of the top universities in South Korea, Mr. Lim
believed that he would be able to find a steady job in the United
States. Unfortunately, American companies did not recognize the
value of his education and were willing only to offer him a position
as an engineer technician, a position at which he remains. He was
told that he was not promoted because he was not “leadership material.” This angered him. |
