Summary: | The stability of unsaturated soil slope will decrease gradually with the decrease of matric suction. This paper develops the relevant computational software of the transfer coefficient method in the condition of taking matric suction into consideration, makes an analysis on stability of Liujiatai slope, and then makes a comparative study with the computational results based on Sarma method. It is proved that, the transfer coefficient method and the Sarma method have the basically same computational results during the matric suction's weakening, and the safety factor of the unsaturated soil slope gradually decreased. However, the transfer coefficient method has obvious limitations in the analysis of local sliding slope, while the Sarma method can be used in the slope stability problems in any shape of slip surface, which can determine the safety factor of the slope. |
