Summary:Some technical details of DC ice-melting device and its application is introduced. And core components and structural program of DC Ice-melting device are studied from performance and price aspects. The practical functions of lines drawing, shorting scheme and the related knife gate are de scribed. The harmonic analysis and calculation of the related parameters are carried out under the establishment of Matlab simulation model according to the ice-melting needs for 500kV AC transmission lines, and accordingly the DC ice-melting plan is given. In conclusion, the combing method of the uncontrolled and controlled rectifier can address 500kV AC transmission lines icing of different line types, different ice thickness and different distance under complex climatic conditions.
