Summary:A continous-conduction mode synchronous boost converter controlled with adaptive Constant On-Time (COT) technique is presented. This method focuses on operating a DC-DC converter with a fixed switching frequency while retaining the benefits of a COT, such as the elimination of the need for slope compensation. The complete topology will be briefly described, with special emphasis on the block that generates the converter on-time. Furthermore, the stability analysis of the system is examined. Simulation results are given at different output voltages, in order to show the versatility of the control loop in maintaining the frequency fixed by adjusting the on-time based on the operating point of the converter.
