Summary:In this study, a multifunctional polarization converter that performs both linear polarization to linear polarization (LP-LP) and linear polarization to circular polarization (LP-CP) conversions, operating in X- and Ku- microwave frequency bands, is designed. This polarization converter provided LP-LP polarization conversion in the bandwidth of 9.22-13.12 GHz with a PCR of %90 and above. Besides, the proposed converter offers LP-CP polarization conversion in the bandwidths of 8.26-8.52 GHz and 15.02-15.97 GHz with left-handed circular polarization (LHCP). The proposed polarization converter's unit cell was rotated 90 degrees and combined to form a metasurface array for the radar cross section (RCS). The RCS of the metasurface array and a metal plate of the same size are simulated and compared. As a result of the comparison, RCS reduction of 10dBsm and above was achieved at 9.1-12.8 GHz frequencies.
