Summary: | To address the problems of false and missing detection in multi-target estimation under the conditions of unknown target number and serious background interference, this paper proposes a multi-target number estimation method based on frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar. Specifically, the FMCW radar is first applied to acquire the intermediate frequency signals, and the two dimensions fast Fourier transform ( 2\mathbf{D} -FFT) is applied to construct the range-speed map of the subjects. Then, the clutter interference in the range-speed diagram is filtered by two-dimensional combined detection constant false alarm detection algorithm. Finally, the scattering points around the target are removed via the strong scattering point aggregation algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively filter out the clutter and scattering points interference, and realize the accurate estimation of the number of targets in the unknown environment. |
