Summary:Naval architects and marine engineers are aware of the benefits of using programming software to solve complex math calculations from a numerical computer system. The purpose of this work is to show how MATLAB ® software can be used to do hydrostatic calculations with the use of integration methods by shaping curves of a vessel, due to its great importance in stability calculations and in phases design. The use of these tools is quite beneficial in supporting computer-assisted education, chiefly, owing to optimization of time required to solve complex operations; furthermore, helping along to engineering students in the performance of projects and serving as support in the naval technical area as an alternative of the application software.
