Summary:In the next generation communication networks there are technological processes to ensure synchronization of time and frequency. This is sufficient for stable, holistic and sustainable operation of communication networks. However, current standards and regulations do not have mechanisms to ensure traceability and reproducibility when determining time and frequency values on communication networks with information packet switching. Next-generation communication networks should be the basis for the digital transformation of the economy. At the same time, there is no legal basis for making mandatory requirements for them, since only metrological characteristics can have legal force. The article describes an approach that enables traceability and reproducibility for determining time and frequency in information packet switched communication networks
