Summary:We investigated the polarization states of rays when passing through the interfaces of the media in this work. The calculations were carried out using our own developed program for ray tracing taking into account polarization. Also a study of the transformation of polarization using an axicon was carried out. A set of applied functions has been developed for ray tracing taking into account polarization, displaying polarization ellipses. The verification of the implementation of the law of conservation of energy has been carried out. The description of the state of polarization was carried out using Jones notation. Formulas for calculating the Jones vector in various ray and surface bases, as well as transferring the Jones vector from one basis to another, are derived and implemented. Algorithms for displaying polarization ellipses on one plane for beams that are not plane-parallel have been developed. The path of rays in a three-dimensional axicon is calculated and shown taking into account polarization.
