Summary: | An annular array CMUT was designed and fabricated, and its ultrasonic image was obtained for the estimation of the image resolution. The center frequency of CMUT was 20 MHz and its frequency bandwidth was over 100%. We calculated the array factors of each arrays depending on the distances and the angles between the transducer elements. An ultrasonic image of a metal wire having 0.5 mm diameter could be obtained by Rx beamforming. This array device can be used to develop a near-field forward-looking array for the integration on a Forward Looking (FL) IVUS (Intravascular Ultrasound) catheter. |
