Bidirectional Dielectric Resonator Antenna with Two Reflectors

A bidirectional dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is designed by placing a pair of a quarter wavelengths height monopole reflectors around a TM010 mode cylindrical DR at a distance of a quarter wavelengths from its center. The DRA has an impedance bandwidth of 9.2%, which can entirely cover the 5.8...

Summary:A bidirectional dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is designed by placing a pair of a quarter wavelengths height monopole reflectors around a TM010 mode cylindrical DR at a distance of a quarter wavelengths from its center. The DRA has an impedance bandwidth of 9.2%, which can entirely cover the 5.8-GHz WLAN band. The antenna gain of the proposed DRA is more than 3 dBi.
