Summary: | This paper presents the latest system trends to overcome the increasing 5G demands based on a highly digitized Continuous-Time Bandpass \Sigma\Delta ADC. Different versions of the proposed solutions are presented with the latest architecture achieving up to 437 MHz bandwidth (BW), with power consumption below 150 mW, sensitivity reaching −90 dBm, and SNR of 60 dB including a digital back-end creating a full RF to bits link. Also, a Digital Beamforming (DBF) is deployed where a throughput of 5.76 Gbps is achieved with 16 channels and 8 beams operation reaching a total Figure of Merit (FOM) of sub-1 pJ/bit. |
