Summary:A spectrum sharing scheme for a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar and MIMO communication system with interference mitigation is proposed in this paper. The degrees of freedom (DOFs) under the designers control include MIMO radar transmit code, MIMO radar receive filter, and MIMO communication system code-book. The spectrum sharing scheme is formulated as a nonconvex optimization problem that maximizes the communication rate subject to several constraints guaranteeing both radar performance and communication energy. An efficient optimization algorithm, based on alternating maximization, is given for the original optimization. Simulation results show the merits of the proposed design in various scenarios.
