Summary: | Biologically Inspired Robots are one of the most emerging technologies in robotics field where engineering knowledge can be used in biological systems to generate new hypothesis of different research. In this paper, we present a biologically inspired robotic cat for both experts and non-experts to use as a learning platform as well as to keep as a pet. Our main goal is to introduce a robotic companion that is very cost effective, easy to assemble using off the shelf components and also can be used to learn advanced robotics. In the same time, our robot can be a helping hand to the elderly people with dementia to reduce their anxiety and depression. This robot can be operated autonomously along with android Bluetooth application to make it more user friendly. After performing several experiments and testing, the main prototype robot has been built to emulate the gestures of a cat. |
