Summary:The muffler is an important part of the FSC racing engine, and its performance directly affects the dynamics of the racing car and the noise rule inspection of the competition. In this paper, a one-dimensional simulation model of the engine was established, and the simulation model is validated through bench tests. Then, the five performance indicators (transmission loss, insertion loss, tailpipe noise, power loss ratio and exhaust back pressure) of the three schemes are analyzed. Finally, the actual vehicle tail pipe noise test verifies the simulation results, and the final selection is Scheme 2. This research can provide a reference for the optimization design of the exhaust system of the FSC formula racing car.
