Summary:Ecosystem services (ESs) have a strong influence on all aspects of human life; natural resources and biodiversity; however, the provision of ESs is generally disturbed/degraded by different human activities. So, there is a need for rapid and cost-effective methods and tools that can be applied in any context around the world where rapid change threatens the provision of ESs in the landscape. This chapter aims to contribute to the growing research area on mapping and understanding spatiotemporal dynamics and patterns of potential ESs in the case of Aydın, Turkey. In this context, the change in potential ESs is assessed by an existing spatially explicit index of multiple ESs (global climate regulation, microclimate mitigation and ecological integrity) based on available spatial data. The findings are evaluated to highlight the areas of apparent deficiency and hotspots for ESs for predicting the implications for landscape resilience and informing positive landscape planning and management.
