Summary:The wound field Flux Switching Machine (FSM), the Doubly Salient Permanent Magnet (DSPM) machine, and a doubly salient machine incorporating Parallel Path Magnetic Technology Machine (PPMTM) are three different types of Doubly Salient Electrical Machines (DSEMs) are the subject of this technical research paper's comparative investigation. Operating principles are systematically described and based on Essen's equation, a theoretical analysis of the torque equation and the factor for three structures has been developed to compare the torque performance with an ideal AC machine. The Finite Element Method (FEM) is used to analyze the electromagnetic performance. With the same outer diameter, axial length, air gap, and current density, this study examines torque density, flux linkages, and radial/tangential forces.
