Summary: | A novel satellite networking approach supporting batch ephemeris update and fast handover is proposed in this paper. By rationally dividing satellite clusters and configuring a centralized controller for each satellite cluster, the frequency of satellite-ground interaction is reduced, thus reducing signaling overhead. On this basis, a fast handover method is proposed, in which the user equipment (UE) does not need to send a measurement report to the source satellite, and the source satellite does not need to send a handover command to the UE. The UE can directly make handover decisions based on the ephemeris information issued by the centralized controller, and quickly switch to the target satellite that meets the handover conditions. On the one hand, it can reduce the probability of handover failure due to handover command transmission failure or slow handover command transmission, thereby improving the handover success rate. On the other hand, the frequency of interaction between the UE and the satellite can be reduced, thus reducing signaling overhead. |
