Summary:In some industrial areas such as industrial parks, if there are two independent feeders, it can used the DVR to compensate for Voltage Sag in any of the feeders. By connecting the dc link of the DVRs, the structure was called the IDVR (Interline DVR). The strategy so far used to determine the rated voltage of DVRs in an IDVR is based on minimizing of the sum of rated apparent power of DVRs. It has been shown in previous studies that if the daily load variations in the feeders are taken into account simultaneously, the solution space of the problem will be very large. Thus, searching the entire solution space is not possible. In this paper, using the concept of the dominant interval in daily load variation, it is shown that it is not necessary to perform simultaneous optimization. In the proposed method, the dominant interval determines the actual optimal solution, and so the problem space becomes much smaller. Examples and numerical results are presented to help understand the importance of the proposed strategy.
