Summary:This article focuses on three probability-based road network reliability indexes: connectivity reliability, travel time reliability and capacity reliability. Based on introducing the indexes respectively, the relationship of them is presented in detail. Then the problems exited in current research and the application prospects of future transportation are analyzed carefully. In addition, according to the inherent informational characteristics of future transportation, the essay reveals the shortcomings of the existing indexes and methods and points out that the comprehensive assessment of road network reliability should transform from a single index evaluation to a comprehensive evaluation with many influential factors in the future, and then refines a people-oriented research idea under the integrated assessment framework. Consequently, these notes provide some theoretical and technical support for reliability evaluation method of road network traffic under information model.
