A 4.6mW 6.25-8.25 GHz RF transmitter IC for FM-UWB applications
A RF transmitter IC in 0.13 µm CMOS technology for FM-UWB applications operating in the 6.25 - 8.25 GHz band is presented. Output power is higher than −10 dBm, phase noise −107 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset. Power consumption at 1.1 V supply voltage is less than 4.6 mW with calibration PLL on, and 4 mW in...

Summary: | A RF transmitter IC in 0.13 µm CMOS technology for FM-UWB applications operating in the 6.25 - 8.25 GHz band is presented. Output power is higher than −10 dBm, phase noise −107 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset. Power consumption at 1.1 V supply voltage is less than 4.6 mW with calibration PLL on, and 4 mW in open loop mode including the output amplifier. The VCO circuit is capable of providing phase noise performance of −107 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset from a 8.3GHz carrier consuming less than 2 mW when biased at 1.0 V supply. |
