Summary:In this article we deal with modelling diagnostic data. They are the data measured during the operation of a conveyor belt. To be specific, we observe how the distances between measuring points change in time. The development of the distance between these points reflects the process of degradation at the point where the belt is connected with the other part. When the distance reaches its critical value, there is a threat of conveyor belt break leading to serious consequences. The modelling of belt degradation is performed with the Kalman filter applying the Local Linear Model (LLM).
