HIBiscus, a broadband antenna with matching impedance and uniform radiation pattern

Global 21-cm spectrum observations in the Very High Frequency (VHF) range require broadband antennas with frequency independent pattern and excellent match across an octave. Summary:Global 21-cm spectrum observations in the Very High Frequency (VHF) range require broadband antennas with frequency independent pattern and excellent match across an octave. The simulation package FEKO was used to create a new design with the characteristics needed, and the geometry was iteratively improved and verified by testing scale models in an anechoic chamber. The final design was constructed at full size and used with success on the experiment.
