Summary: | The self-repairing epoxy resin can effectively repair the mechanical damage on the surface. Artificial scratches were made on the samples using 23# surgical blade. The treated samples were placed in temperate box at 80°C for 1 hour and then taken out to observe its scratch repairing effect. Optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, laser particle size analyzer, thermogravimetric analyzer, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, and AC voltage breakdown platform were used to study the appearance and physicochemical properties of microcapsule samples and self-healing epoxy resin samples. The results show that the microcapsules have a complete and stable spherical structure, good thermal stability; the scratch width of the samples was significantly narrowed in the presence of Grubbs catalyst, but the scratches did not disappear completely; The AC breakdown strength of the self-healing epoxy resin decreased after being scratched and returned to a lower level than the initial value of the untreated samples when the scratches were repaired. Therefore, the self-repairing epoxy resin prepared in this paper can be automatically repaired in mechanical and electrical aspects after being slightly scratched. |
