Summary: | Anycast is a new communication model defined in IPv6. But due to the problems facing anycast and the limited deployment of IPv6 in the Internet, currently few implementations exist and even fewer have been tested outside simulators. OSPF is a popular intra-AS routing protocol successful in practice but do not support anycast, the IPv6 version of which is 0SPFv3. Therefore, we propose AOSPF (anycast extensions to OSPFv3) routing protocol extending 0SPFv3 to support anycast, after analyzing the similarity and difference between anycast and unicast. We also implement AOSPF and test it successfully in our IPv6 test bed. And the performance analysis shows the overhead of AOSPF is low. |
