Summary:The mutual coupling effect will have some influences on the electrical performance parameters of the antennas. In order to evaluate mutual coupling, the special simulation software and huge calculation are usually needed. As a result, coupling effect mitigation methods are hard to be testified because of the complicate model. In the view of those problems mentioned above, a simple mathematical model for mutual coupling is proposed in this paper. MATLAB and FEKO are used to cross-validate the relevant models. Theory analysis and simulations are presented to prove that when a cross antenna is working on one antenna and another antenna does not work, the magnitude of mutual coupling is 10-5. The induced voltage is small, which will hardly affect the transmitting signal of the working antenna. At the same time, the proposed method can effectively solve the problem of mutual coupling analysis of cross quasi-orthogonal antennas with high accuracy and small amount of calculation. It provides a good estimation scheme for antenna measurement and design.
