Summary:Integration of renewable energy sources into isolated energy systems of Arctic communities is important topic for researching due to economical, ecological reasons and for improvement of the population quality of life. There are more than 900 diesel power plants with total capacity about 500 MW that work in such isolated grids in Russia. This paper investigates case study of implementation of wind turbine and LiFePO 4 battery energy storage system for genset power grid of small and one of the most remote villages of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia. The Quasi-Dynamic model of battery storage is presented in DigSILENT Power Factory software. Case study shows fuel consumption reduction, influence of new equipment capital costs to Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE). Correction of wind turbine generator output power based on information about low temperature periods was done.
