Modified CPW fed band-notched ultra-wideband antenna

A planner, square monopole ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna which is operated successfully on whole UWB range (3.1-10.6 GHz) is proposed with CPW feeding. The antenna has compact size of 28.5 mm × 18 mm × 1.6 mm with substrate relative permeability 3.2. Using Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) resonator, band-not...

Summary:A planner, square monopole ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna which is operated successfully on whole UWB range (3.1-10.6 GHz) is proposed with CPW feeding. The antenna has compact size of 28.5 mm × 18 mm × 1.6 mm with substrate relative permeability 3.2. Using Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) resonator, band-notched characteristics is achieved between 5.4-6.3 GHz to reduce the interference with WLAN systems working at 5.8 GHz. A good impedance matching is obtained in 3.1-15 GHz with reflection less than -10 db (VSWR <; 2) except rejected band.
