Summary:Incorporating game with intelligent learning environment has always been a subject for research and development in intelligent tutoring system(ITS). This paper proposes a new design of artificial pet game-based ITS(APGITS) which makes use of the design experiences of both traditional ITS and artificial pet games. The pet module in APGITS are flexibly designed, which does track the learner's activities and analysis their learning progress. Based on this structure, an artificial pet game-based ITS, called space-travel-with-my-pet (STMP), is developed bringing educational advantages to the learning process.
