Summary:This paper presents a framework for the development of hybrid multiparametric model predictive controller for biomedical systems that are described using the Hill model. The framework is tested for the process of neuromuscular blockade. Based on a detailed mathematical model, the hybrid control strategy is designed, tested and evaluated in a comparative manner with the nominal mp-MPC. To test the performances of the controllers, a set of 8 patients is used in the induction phase and analyzed. The results of the simulations show improved performances by using the hybrid strategy.
