Summary:In this paper, the computation algorithm of the attenuation of optical signal duet o the optical power losses, in an optical system for partial discharge detection is presented. Based on the references in the field, the partial discharge detector based on the interferometer Fabry Perot is described. Numerical evaluation of the components of the attenuation and highlighting the influence of the some quantities affecting them is carried out using a Matlab application. The determination of the loss power budget in an optical path is important in assessing the acoustic-optical sensor sensitivity and in choosing adequately the photodetector.
