Computational Analysis of Collision between Heavy Truck and Road Median Safety Barrier

This paper models the finite element model of the heavy truck and median road safety barrier with LS-DYNA code about the G5 highway in Deyang city of China's Sichuan province. The heavy truck impacts the median barrier at the angle of 15° and 20°with regard to the guardrail respectively. The si...

Summary:This paper models the finite element model of the heavy truck and median road safety barrier with LS-DYNA code about the G5 highway in Deyang city of China's Sichuan province. The heavy truck impacts the median barrier at the angle of 15° and 20°with regard to the guardrail respectively. The simulation results have shown that the median safety barrier is not effective to prevent the truck from entering the opposite lane.
