Summary:A new design of pH/blood gas analyzer used in medical laboratory is proposed. The device is completely automatized and allows the measurement of the pH value, the partial pressures of the dissolved gases (PCO 2 , PO 2 ) and the concentration of the hemoglobin (Hb) from the blood. It computes another six medical sanguine parameters based on measured parameters: bicarbonate, oxygen saturation, oxygen content, base-excess, total carbon dioxide, pH standard, which allow the establishment of the acid-base balance of the blood. The unit is interconnected with the personal computer via the parallel port
